Zincor-PRO - advanced primer with zinc

Zincor-PRO (ТУ 20.30.12-008-16406613-2018) is a new zinc-rich primer to protect metals against corrosion. It consists of zinc powder (purity 99.9%), a new generation synthetic polymer and multifunctional additives. Thanks to the improved formula it has a strengthened protective effect. Slows down the process of electrochemical corrosion in various environments. Provides tight adhesion to surfaces, including those affected by rust. Slows down its spreading by preserving small spots.

After application forms a heavy-duty film of matte gray color. Outperforms other compositions with zinc for adhesion and protection properties. Reliably insulates the substrate from negative factors. Creates a galvanic pair with it and provides cathodic protection. The zinc layer is slowly thinning while the metal remains intact. Depending on conditions, zinc layer thinning lasts from 10 to 50 years.

Zincor-PRO is suitable for the treatment and protection of metal structures in shops, workshops, car repair shops and in everyday life. Its application does not require special skills or professional equipment. It provides high adhesion to the surface even without sandblasting.

Already with a layer thickness of 60-70 microns the period of protection of metal is increased several times. With other compositions, under similar conditions, the film thickness should be at least 120 μm, which increases the consumption of the primer and thickens the protective layer.

Main fields of application

Zinc-containing primer Zincor-PRO is used in industrial production of ferrous metal products and metal structures of various purposes. It is widely used for overhaul and repair of motor vehicles as well as for protection of garden and agricultural equipment against rust.

Due to its moisture resistance it enables anti-corrosive treatment of hydraulic structures, berths and boats. Protects metal fences, garages and sheds. It is used for radiators, stairs and interior items. Coatings with zinc are used for art forging.

Surface preparation

1. By hand or mechanically clean the metal from loose rust, old coating residues and heavy contamination. The surface must be free of burrs, weld splashes and overlaps.
2. Degrease the substrate with a solvent and then dry it.
3. Before applying zinc primers it is necessary to roughen the surface. Due to high adhesion, Zincor-PRO can be applied to metal without sandblasting. But for maximum effect and increase of the service life this procedure is recommended.

Preparation of the composition

1. Zincor-PRO primer is completely ready for use. Keep it at room temperature for 8 hours prior to use.
2. Open the container and mix thoroughly until a homogeneous mass is obtained. A construction mixer or a drill with an attachment is suitable.
3. If necessary, you can dilute the primer to the working viscosity, which depends on the method and tool of application. It is necessary to add the solvent (Diluent-PRO) in small portions in the ratio of up to 5-10% by weight.
4. During the work, the primer in the container should be stirred every 15-20 minutes. It helps to avoid zinc settling, which sinks to the bottom.

Technology of application

1. Compounds for cold galvanizing, such as Zinkor-PRO, are intended for independent processing of metals. It can be applied with different tools at hand and does not require any special skills.
2. The primer can be applied manually with a brush made of natural fibres or with a lint-free roller. Pneumatic and airless spraying are also used. Small parts can also be treated by dipping them in zinc.
3. Processing can be performed indoors or outdoors at temperatures from -30°C to +50°C (relative humidity max. 85%).
4. It is necessary to observe strictly the technology: to cover the surface evenly with a thin layer (thickness of 40-60 microns). It is important to avoid leaks and omissions.
5. Apply a second coat only after the first one is completely dry (20 min).

• Wear personal protective equipment (mask, goggles, gloves).
• In case of contact with mucous membranes or eyes it is recommended to consult a doctor.
• When working indoors you should open windows or provide ventilation.
• The composition should not be applied near open flame and sprayed in strong winds.
   

Storage conditions

Store and transport the product in a tightly closed container at temperatures from -30°C to +30°C. Protect from direct sunlight and water.

The shelf life of the composition in unopened original packaging is unlimited.
